In January of 1999, I moved to Cleveland, Ohio to work at Body Work Productions, to continue my training with Derek Lowe and Dave Vidra. During this time, I learned a great deal about all aspects of body piercing. In addition to Derek and David, it was also during this time that I met Sky Renfro, who helped further my piercing education.
During my time in Cleveland, I had the opportunity to work with Health Educators, Inc., further expanding my knowledge, as well as, enabling me to teach others about the health and safety aspects of body piercing.
In November 2001, I was hired by Saint Sabrina's, which I knew had an excellent reputation. While working in a busy APP-member studio can be challenging at times, it helps me continually hone my techniques and keep my skills sharp. I try to create a warm, safe, and fun environment for my clients.
I specialize in genital piercing, nostril piercings and finding creative ways to help women who've had various types of stomach surgery successfully heal a navel piercing. I also specialize in working with minors and their parents.
Having seven nostril piercings myself, I understand the importance of properly-fitted jewelry. I pride myself on custom-fitting nostril jewelry for my clients.
In my career I have done guest spots at Splash of Color, in Michigan and Infinite Body Piercing in Philadelphia. I have visited other APP-member studios including the respected Twisted Sol in Denver, Virtue and Vice in Atlanta and Enigma in San Diego. Traveling to these studios allows me to continue my education by understanding different types of clientele and it helps me gain knowledge of new techniques and ideas that I can use to better serve my clients.
I've been a proud, active member of the APP since 1999 and I have attended the APP Annual Conference each year since 1997. In 2006 I co-taught the class "Customer Service and Marketing" with my co-worker Derek Lowe. At the 2007 conference, I co-taught "Aftercare: Basic Principals" in addition to leading a roundtable discussion on "Ethics: Working with Minors." In 2007 I co-taught the Advanced Genital Piercing seminar through Sky Renfro's company, Professional Piercing Information Systems. I very much enjoy teaching and hope to do more in the future.
I have three cats, an organic garden and a teenage son named Jacob.
